Role Overview
The Lab Assistant plays a critical support role in ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient daily functioning of the Innovation Lab. This role focuses on equipment management, student support, session readiness, lab safety, inventory control, and trainer assistance across multiple technology domains.
This is an ideal entry-level to mid-level role for someone passionate about STEM, robotics, electronics, and hands-on learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lab Setup & Session Support
● Prepare the lab before every session (tools, kits, power supply, internet, workstations).
● Assist trainers during live sessions with:
○ Robotics kits
○ Electronics components
○ Drones & simulators
○ 3D printers
● Support students during activities without taking over the session.
2. Equipment, Inventory & Asset Management
● Maintain accurate records of:
○ Kits
○ Sensors
○ Robots
○ Drones
○ Laptops
○ Tools
● Track usage, damages, repairs and replacements.
● Ensure all equipment is returned, cleaned, and stored after every session.
3. Lab Safety & Discipline
● Enforce safety protocols for:
○ Electrical tools
○ Soldering stations
○ Drones
○ Power tools
● Ensure tidy, hazard-free workspaces.
● Report safety risks, damages, or incidents immediately.
4. Student Assistance & Discipline Support ● Support younger students (6–10 yrs) in:
○ Handling tools safely
○ Following instructions
● Maintain discipline and order in the lab.
● Assist in managing student movement and batch transitions.
5. Maintenance & Technical Support
● Perform basic troubleshooting for:
○ Robots
○ Electronics kits
○ Computers
○ Projectors
○ Internet connectivity
● Coordinate with vendors for major repairs.
6. Documentation & Reporting
● Maintain:
○ Daily lab log
○ Attendance support
○ Equipment issue list
● Assist in photography & video coordination during demo days or exhibitions. ● Support internal audits and inspections.
7. Event, Competition & Demo Support
● Assist during:
○ Parent demo days
○ Innovation exhibitions
○ External school workshops
○ Competitions & hackathons
● Pack, transport, assemble and dismantle equipment when required.
Eligibility & Experience
● Diploma / Bachelor’s in:
○ Electronics
○ Mechatronics
○ Robotics
○ Electrical
○ Computer Science
○ IT
● 0–3 years experience in:
○ Robotics labs
○ Electronics labs
○ Schools / training centers
○ Makerspaces
Freshers with strong hands-on interest are welcome.
Required Skills
● Basic understanding of:
○ Robotics kits

○ Breadboards, soldering, wiring
○ 3D printers (basic handling)
